How to reach Ghent

By plane

BRUSSELS AIRPORT-ZAVENTEM
The national airport of Belgium lies just outside of Brussels. Its railway station is located under the airport. Take the train to Brussels-South (Bruxelles-midi), four trains an hour. From there, you can take a direct train to Ghent (station 'Gent Sint-Pieters'), two trains an hour. [Brussels Airport]

Every hour there is also a direct train from Brussels Airport-Zaventem to Ghent.

BRUSSELS SOUTH CHARLEROI AIRPORT
This small low-cost airport is further from Brussels. There are no direct connections to Ghent, so you have to take the shuttle bus to Brussels first. There are two shuttle busses an hour to Brussels-South (Bruxelles-Midi) train station. The bus trip takes approximately one hour. From there, you can take a direct train to Ghent (station 'Gent Sint-Pieters'), two trains an hour. [Charleroi Airport]

By train

Several high speed trains (Thalys, Eurostar, TGV, ICE) connect Brussels South (Bruxelles Midi) to the neighboring countries. From Brussels South, you can take a direct train to Ghent (station 'Gent Sint-Pieters'), two trains an hour. [Belgian Railways]

By car

If you decide to come by car, you will find Ghent at the crossroads of two highways: E17 and E40.
